Quoted from HM's interview: I understand you’re a believer... What challenges does having faith in Christ bring to a career in rock and roll? I very much am so. The term “Christian”has been so overused and being in a “Christian band” has sickeningly become marketable. OM&M is not a Christian band in the least bit. We actually only have one song on the album that talks about it, and if you are a believer you will hear it and go, “Oh wow, he is talking about his walk with Jesus!” Others may just take it as another song with lyrics about unconditional love or wanting to help someone. I don’t want to stand on a soap box with my faith. Having a relationship with Jesus Christ isn’t a contest. It isn’t a “who can be a better Christian and accomplish more things.” And it sure as crap shouldn’t be used just to have a banner on your MySpace that says “Jesus Saves” to make you look like a “good person.” I want fans, friends and anyone to see by my actions, and my loveI have inside of me showing through, just how amazing having a relationship with Jesus Christ can be, and I don’t think you need to be in a “Christian band” to do so.

Don't worry about being negative. We're all entitled to have our own opinions. I personally liked Conan O'Brien at the 11:30pm slot. Jay Leno is just boring. I hope Conan gets another show soon. Personally, I loved the "hello hurricane" album but not so much their first single "Mess of Me". There are a lot better songs on the record than that one.

No this was not quick at all actually. Even though the announcing to Solid State was recent, they were done recording their SS debut before the "official" announcement of them being signed to Solid State. That is how it is in the business though. Bands don't lie low waiting to get signed before they make an album. But also, have been signed to Solid State long before the official press release. Thought you would want to know. This album was not rushed in the least bit.

New soul embraced please! With a bit more clean vocals. I liked the singing in the song "crawl" went nicely with the growling vox.

These guys are from my hometown so they play around here constantly and have a pretty big fanbase. And I have to say I enjoy them pretty well except for the clean vocals as well Steve. The guy that does them also does some solo, acoustic shows and I'm thinking he should leave the clean vocals there.

Now this is one of those bands (to me) whose lyrics I LOVE because they are so bold about the Gospel in their music. But the music itself is, well, kind of boring. It's okay for what it is I guess, but to me it sounds like slowish, chugging and break downs. The harsh vocals are fine, cause they are a "heavy" band but I wish they played better. I don't mean to sound harsh cause these guys write some great lyrics for God and I can see some people being touched by the Holy Spirit through this music. But I didn't really like portraits as much as most did. I prefer stuff like haste the day or demon hunter. But I do like some good hard core/metal core stuff. Sleeping giant, becoming the archetype, and means are all favs of mine.

According to Best Buys website, a store about 30 minutes away from me has the special edition, but it's not really worth the drive to me so I think I'll be getting the regular version tomorrow.

I am pretty sure that Solid State goofed up on the track listing because I have heard and read that its 10 songs, not 9. I think when SolidState released this info, they forgot one song. Love everything about this. The artwork is amazing, the title is cool sounding, and the track names seem to have depth and thought.

I sort of agree with ya there. If it is strictly a live album for a hardcore/metalcore/whatever band, then I think you need to be at the show for the real affect but if it is a DVD then I would say that you dont really need to be in attendance for the heaviness ha ha I got Between The Buried and Me's Colors album/DVD and i havent listened to the live album once but the DVD is absolutely amazing.

Exactly Nater, that's how I feel. That's why I like Muse's live album/DVD so much. I really don't think metalcore/post-hardcore music translates very well into live albums or DVD's. You pretty much have to be there to enjoy it and the heaviness of the music.

Yeah, maybe they are trying to finish their contract. Live albums are pretty much useless to me but Live DVD's are where it's at if they are filmed well and the band is actually good live. Thrice's Live DVD was amazing and probably my favorite.

Demon Hunter Eats Best Buy [ Anthony Takach ]

I already got it. But not from best buy! I would've though but I already pre ordered it and got it yesterday. I love the booklet and the stuff that comes with the deluxe edition. As for the album, it's really good but a few songs are hit or miss. It has a mix of storm the gates, self titled, and the third album. Ballads, and heavier songs. The best tracks are def tie this around your neck, just breathe, driving nails, descending upon us, and shallow water. Everything else is good but not amazing. The last song "blood in the tears" is a solid ballad but it's not as memorable as carry me down or my throat is an open grave. I'd give this 4/5 stars though, it's not a bad album it has some killer tunes.
